Position Description
Purpose: In accordance with the mission of Immanuel Lutheran School (ILS) which is: To prepare and equip children spiritually, academically, emotionally and physically for Spirit-filled Christian outreach to the community and to the World. The Admissions Counselor will actively promote Immanuel Lutheran School so as to increase the school’s enrollment. Work will be concentrated but not limited to the communities of Hillside, Westchester, Berkeley, Bellwood, Broadview and Maywood.
Qualifications:
- Be an active member of an LCMS congregation or a Biblical Christian Congregation which espouses beliefs and doctrines consistent with LCMS beliefs and doctrines.
- Be knowledgeable of Immanuel Lutheran Church and School and supportive of its ministries.
- Have/had a child or grandchild attending a Lutheran School, preferably Immanuel.
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent, prefer College degree.
- Have good communication skills both oral and written, computer literate.
- Work experience in sales, marketing, advertising or customer service.
- Present a professional appearance.
- Be energetic, confident, a self starter able to work with minimal supervision.
- Prefer a candidate who is a resident in the communities served by ILS.
- Prefer a candidate who has participated in ILS community groups, activities and agencies.
Duties:
- Be highly visible as a representative of ILS in the congregation and the communities.
- Redevelop and/or create admissions/marketing materials to be market ready and professional.
- Conduct visits to local churches to provide information on ILS ministry and programs.
- Develop a contact list of potential enrollees, parents, and grandparents, provide regular communication to those contacts on the events and activities of ILS.
- Develop a comprehensive marketing plan which shall include but is not limited too:
- Conduct visitation and open house events
- Participate in school, church and community events where ILS can contact and meet potential clients.
- Work with PTL, other ILS and church organizations to use their events and members to contact and inform others about ILS.
- Provide materials to ILS parents and members which promote ILS.
- Work with potential enrollees and families to guide them through the application and enrollment process.
- Provide regular reports to the School Administrator, Pastor and church council.
- Other duties as determined by the School Administrator/Pastor.
Position is a 12 hour a week position which reports to the School Administrator.
